If you have been around long enough, you probably know what Germans are capable of when it comes to machines.Talk of the V2 rocket designed by Wernher Von Brown for the German military during the Second World War which was quite a lethal injection to their enemies and gave them an upper hand at destroying distant targets long before the Americans got wind of the idea.
In 1955, the Bundeswehrt or German Defence Forces was formed as the official forces for the Federal Republic of Germany.It therefore comes as no surprise that their artillery,weapons and ammunition is top-notch and unmatched in precision, lethality and technology.Here are a few examples of what the Bundeswehrt Armoury comprises of;
- 1.G36 Combat Rifle
- This is the German army standard issue rifle that has a range of 200- 400 metres.The rifle is also issued to other armies around Europe due to its favourable economics as well as ease of operation.It can also be operated equally well by both left and right-handed shooters.The G 36 also fires 5.56 * 6.45 calibre rounds which leaves little room for recoil.
2.Hk G36 Assault Rifle
This badboy is used by German paratroopers mostly skilled to combat enemies in woody areas and built up areas.It is slightly different from the G36 combat rifle in that it fires 5.56 mm * 45 calibre rounds and has a maximum effective range of 500 metres.Theoretically the Hk G36 Assault Rifle can also fire 750 rounds per minute in automatic mode, quite an advantage where there are numerous targets and where targets are moving from place to place.It can also be configured to fit night vision and laser light modules among other add-ons which makes it night-combat capable.
3.G27 Battle Rifle
With all its glory, the G36 rifle suffers from firing short ranges and low penetration power as the Bundeswehr found out during foreign missions.This is where the G27 Battle Rifle comes in; bridging the gap between the G36 and large calibre weapons.The G27 comes in both fully automatic and semi-automatic versions which is why it is preferred by the Bundeswehr special forces.It weighs in at 4.6 Kgs, fires 7.62 mm * 51 calibre rounds,has a range of 600 metres and can theoretically fire 600 rounds per minute.The G27 is a robust weapon which allows a variety of individualized configurations including telescopic sight, reflex sight,laser light module,laser pointer and grenade launchers all of which can be attached to suit specific needs.
